Este último es probablemente un self-portrait de tiziano , representado como si viera su próxima muerte también en el Christ's cara . A la izquierda , de pie y formando un triángulo ideal , es maría magdalena . Otro pequeño self-portrait , junto con su hijo orazio , se muestra en la base de una de las columnas que rodean el nicho . La imagen generalmente se considera Titian's último : una inscripción en la parte inferior de la imagen indica que fue terminada por palma el joven .
